A COLORFUL AUTUMN

What makes autumn so beautiful?
Autumn is paradoxically a colourful time of the year. When you observe closely, you will distinguish all the shades of colours that nature offers us.
It was in September. We went camping for a few days by the lake. The trees were no longer totally green. The leaves were falling gently in the morning breeze. They were yellow, orange, red and even a little brown. This mixture of colours was spread out on the ground, under my amazed gaze. I then looked up at the sky. My attention stopped on the branches of this beech tree which was losing its leaves. I scanned the branches. Each stem was lined with colourful leaves like those on the ground. It was a gorgeous assortment of natural colours to behold.
Autumn announces the end of the hot season, and reminds us to prepare for the cold. Indeed, Nature is preparing to welcome winter. It is the period of the last harvests. Trees drop their leaves to be able to store energy needed to overcome the coming cold. And the birds migrate to a more bearable climate for them. Soon it would no longer be possible to sleep in a tent under the stars. The nights are starting to get fresh. We enjoyed one last time the warm temperatures and the refreshing water of the lake.
Each of us sees autumn from a different angle. Everyone enjoys it in their own way. We experience it differently or similarly, depending on where we are, or according to our tastes. However, the most important thing is to appreciate it and enjoy its beauty.
